YYachts delivers flagship sailing yacht Y9 Bella

The first voyage was from Greifswald to Cannes.

German-based shipyard YYachts has unveiled the first sailing yacht in its new Y9 series. Named Bella, the vessel is 29.7 metres long – 2.3 metres longer than its previous flagship Prevail.

Bella is a cruising yacht built from carbon fiber. The boat has been modeled to sail with two crew members. The team that worked on the creation developed the ability to adjust the sail and rigging at the touch of a button.

The yacht's design was developed by Scandinavian firms Norm Architects and Design Unlimited, who gave it a recognizable look in the style of "soft minimalism".

The yacht features a tender garage across the stern, allowing the owner to get more space in the private suites and provide additional comfort in the guest staterooms. The garage houses the YTender carbon composite catamaran.

The vessel is equipped with a hydroelectric generator from Oceanvolt and a bimini hard top with 14 square meters of solar panels and an extensive battery pack, giving her added mobility.

The first voyage was from Greifswald, Germany, to Cannes. On this leg Bella reached a maximum speed of 26 knots. The crew tested the 2604 sq.ft. main sail and the 66.41 sq.ft. gennaker.

It is known that Y9, which will complement the existing line of Y7 and Y8 sailing yachts, will be delivered to customers, including a pilot saloon version and a special custom edition with unlimited design options.
