The yacht is scheduled to be launched in late 2024 – early 2025.
Dutch shipyard Vripack has unveiled a new concept of a 30-meter research yacht Defender. The project is realized in partnership with the Turkish shipyard Alia Yachts.
The design has the typical Doggersbank nautical architecture of explorer yachts, with a flared bow and modern silhouette. Defender has clear sightlines, an open layout and cruising spaces that characterize her as a family yacht.
The gray steel hull and metal details are combined with minimalist decorations in the interior. Such a design successfully contrasts with the wooden panels that follow the hull along the sides and ceiling.
The spacious main deck houses dining spaces and lounges for al fresco dining, as well as an indoor saloon in case of bad weather. The deck is connected by stairs to the flybridge, which has additional seating and a dining area. On the left side of the vessel is a crane for maneuvering water toys.
There are lounge chairs on the transom as well as folding terraces, further increasing the deck space by 3.6 meters. The stepped bathing platform is equipped with recessed steps for easy access to the water.
Defender includes a master cabin, two single cabins and one VIP cabin. Vripack notes that this configuration means that the yacht is designed not so much for long-distance travel, but for a luxurious family vacation. The yacht is currently in the initial design stage. Its launch is expected to take place in late 2024 or early 2025.
