Turkey will not be allowed to enter without a certificate of absence of COVID-19

All citizens who come to the Republic of Turkey from other countries must now submit a certificate confirming that they do not have a coronavirus infection.  

From today, this order will affect those who arrive in the state, and from December 30, all citizens who arrive by land or sea transport.      

As the head of the Ministry of Health of the State, Fahrettin Koji, notes, they will not be allowed into the country without a certificate issued no more than 3 days before arrival. Tourists at the entrance will be able to be tested and in case of a positive test for COVID-19, they will be quarantined. Representatives of the Turkish Airlines air carrier said that they would no longer be allowed on board the aircraft without a negative test.  

Tightened quarantine measures are valid until the end of February next year. Their adoption was prompted by the emergence of a new, more contagious strain of the virus, which was first detected in the UK on December 14th. As Prime Minister Boris Johnson noted, this mutated type of Chinese infection could be 70% more contagious, and, as a result, contribute to an increase in the number of hospitalized patients and deaths in the coming year.

To date, a new strain of the virus has also been identified in the Republic of Turkey, Germany, Denmark, Austria and Japan. The ban on entry into the state until February 1, 2021 was introduced by Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait. Some European countries have stopped flights to Britain. For some time, flights there were canceled by the Russian Federation.
