90m Lurssen Project 1601

The vessel was spotted in Germany on its way to the open sea.

Lürssen Shipyard has begun sea trials of its new yacht Project 1601. The 90-meter vessel with the appropriate markings on board was spotted in Germany en route to the open sea.

The yacht's exterior was designed by the Espen Øino studio, which previously collaborated with Lürssen on the Skat project. The vessel features narrow rectangular windows and greenhouse-style glazing on the upper deck.

The silhouette of the Lürssen Project 1601 was first presented in the spring of 2020 during the launch in Rendsburg. The authors of the project note that the yacht is distinguished by a “striking design with unusual features,” the exterior of which “is dominated by flat surfaces, straight lines and angular corners.”

The interiors of Lürssen Project 1601 were designed by Dölker + Voges. Cornelsen & Partner acted as a project manager at all stages of construction.

Project 1601 is the second presentation in Lürssen's portfolio recently, following the introduction of the 145-meter yacht Project Luminance. The yard is also currently working on the 122-meter Project Jag and 142-meter Project Alibaba.
