Gemini Marine supplies rescue boats for SpaceX

Cape Town-based brand Gemini Marine, which specializes in the production of inflatable boats for recreation, special services and the military, supplies RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) for SpaceX space missions.

So far, two Gemini Waverider 780 boats have been purchased.

The head of the company, Gerhard Nietling, noted that the boats were already used in August when the Crew Dragon met the astronauts on board, which was moored off the coast of Florida.

The head of Gemini Marine also emphasized that SpaceX plans to purchase additional RIBs, but at the moment the information has not been officially confirmed.

Note that RIBs are inflatable boats with a rigid hull. Inflatable boards provide safety in operation and high practicality, and a rigid hull is responsible for comfort and excellent seaworthiness.
