Greece has announced the conditions for admission to tourists in 2021

According to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, foreign tourists will not be required to provide a coronavirus vaccination certificate or, in other words, a “covid passport” to travel to the country this summer.

“The certificate of vaccination against Covid-19, which today the authorities of many world countries want to impose on tourists, will not be a prerequisite for visiting Greece.” This statement was made by the head of the Ministry of Tourism, Haris Theoharis, during a government meeting regarding the preparation of the state for the upcoming summer season 2021.

Upon entering the state, tourists who have not been vaccinated will be tested for coronavirus. At the same time, all “vaccinated” guests will be able to pass border control without hindrance and in the shortest possible time and avoid material costs for additional testing.

Greece is in favor of a single European format of "covid passports", which will simplify administration at the borders, but the presence of such a document to visit the country will not be mandatory under any circumstances. Foreign tourists, including Russians, will have the choice of how to prove the absence of coronavirus infection.

Greek Tourism Minister Haris Theoharis is confident that this year's summer season will be more successful than last year's summer. However, due to the fact that the behavior of travelers has changed and no one is booking tours six months before the start of the tourist season, it is quite difficult to make predictions based on past experience.
