The German shipbuilding company Alva Yachts has shown the concept of an innovative electrified yacht Ocean Sail 82, 24.9 m long.
Despite still being a concept model at the moment, the boat won the A'Design Award for Best Yacht and Offshore Vessel.
Ocean Sail 82 is a sailing yacht created by the German company Alva Yachts in collaboration with design studios Henndesign, Bad Pyrmont and iYacht. Despite the size, the ship will be able to take part in regattas.
A feature of the yacht is its environmental friendliness. She is equipped with sails to use wind energy and solar panels to recharge the battery. The vessel will be equipped with either an emergency diesel generator for refueling the battery, or a dedicated hydrogen fuel cell installation (fully "eco" option). The Ocean Sail 82 also features a sporty transom float that assists in launching or retrieving the tender to the aft garage.
Ocean Sail 82 will feature a spacious panoramic saloon with a dining area for 10 people, a living room, a galley and four double cabins with bathrooms.
